Sometimes when I think back on the past three years of owning my own home, I think I'd've been much better off staying in an apartment. Most recently I had this thought when I discovered pink markings on my front sidewalk and got a letter from Code Enforcement explaining that the marked areas need to be replaced. Dang! This wasn't part of the deal. I was only wanting to purchase real estate so that I could watch it grow in value. I didn't buy a house so that I could throw money away on sidewalk repairs or property taxes.
