Photo Friday and Friday Five for May 9

09 May 2003

above: URBAN and DOWNTOWN entry for Photo Friday challenge
I don't have much to offer in terms of photographs of urban life, but if I can rewrite "urban" as "downtown," then here is a building from downtown Lexington which I shot on a snowy night last February.

UPDATE:  I wonder if I'm gonna get booted from the PhotoFriday list, submitting this page as DOWNTOWN when I've already submitted it as URBAN. Hope not!

below: my 5 answers for Friday Five   Friday Five

1. Would you consider yourself an organized person? Why or why not?
I am quite organized, for the most part. I'm the kind of guy who keeps things in piles but knows exactly which pile holds which things. And I have been recording all my transactions in Quicken for the past 7 years.

2. Do you keep some type of planner, organizer, calendar, etc. with you, and do you use it regularly?
Well, I bought a Toshiba PocketPC that keeps track of my appointments if I want it to, but I don't have that many appointments to keep track of. The organizer is handiest when I need an address or phone number.

3. Would you say that your desk is organized right now?
There's really not much that needs to be organized on my desk at work, considering all my work is done on the PC. I don't manage any paper documents, so the only things left on my desk to be organized are office supplies (which are kept tidy in a little compartment-thing).

4. Do you alphabetize CDs, books, and DVDs, or does it not matter?
I have my DVDs and videotapes alphabetized, but my CDs are sorted by category, and my books are all shoved together in no order.

5. What's the hardest thing you've ever had to organize?
When I filed my first tax return as a homeowner, I had the hardest time pulling together all the stuff that goes on the Itemized Deductions form, stuff like tax bills and information about property loss (i.e. market value of the Mazda I totalled).
