mine keeps crashing too

Answer to my Microsoft crash

28 Jul 2003

Finally, after 5 days of struggling with my Windows XP failure which resulted from a full run of Disk Defragmenter, I have narrowed the hyperstupid and frustrating problem down to a little feature of the operating system called WMI. When I go into "msconfig" in Safe Mode and turn off the "Windows Management Instrumentation" service, I get my computer in the same shape it was before (on Thursday). When I go into "msconfig" again and turn that service on, I cannot use my machine at all.

I know you have no interest in hearing about this problem, but I want to post it here in case someone searches Google for this problem. They'll come see my site and tell me what a role model geek I am.

On a completely unrelated note, I have just been blogrolled at The Rabid Librarian. Go boost their hit counter for me. And since you're doing me favors, go click the PLUS sign on my profile at photoblogs.org, all right? I have too many minuses and not enough plusses.
